My Purpose Is Rooted In Nature

For it is there where love exists.

Happy New Year 2023!

First, let's take a short trip back to 2022 for a minute.

Yo!....soooo much have happened! (deep breath) The best way for me to describe what I experienced in 2022 is that it was a mind-blowing season of change, growth, reflection, and a new-found beautiful relationship with myself and a deeper connection with nature.

To sum it up in one word, 2022 was WiIIIiIIIILLLddDD!!!

Caught this beautiful picture on my hike through the Cockscomb Basin jungle in Belize.

As I reflect back at how I even came out of 2022 as a sane person, I go back to that place, deep in the jungle when all I had to rely on was trusting nature - the plants, the snakes, the jaguars, the birds, and all the other unseen creatures that surrounded me. Trusting first that I would not get bitten or eaten, and trusting that all of nature could sense my fears, my insecurities, my excitement, my wonder, and trusting that we are all connected through this portal where love exists.

In some ways, starting a new year always bring back for me feelings of nostalgia - reminiscent memories of the good and bad times, yet so much to leave in the past and propel in to the new.

Embarking on this new year and this new chapter, I'm filled with gratitude for the life that I still have. I've realised there is nothing more I want to do than to make each moment in my life matter and be fully present in all of nature's bounty.

This means I will run freely and wildly toward everything that is filled with joy, filled with compassion, with kindness, with forgiveness and understanding, with hope, and where I can just BE.

I'm open and ready to receive all of nature's gifts - her love and all her magic!

In the words of Nina Simone...

It's a new dawn

It's a new day

It's a new life

For me

And I'm feeling good

I'm feeling good

Wishing you a beautiful and prosperous year ahead.

Go forth with love,

Fern
