NÁGEI
WOMEN'S WOMB HEALTH
So much of what has inspired me to feel beautiful as a woman, be a strong mother, and keeping true to my authentic self, is this innate wisdom that points to my core.
Born out of my rich Garifuna culture, nágei, which stands for 'my womb', consists of the many practices of how women in my culture takes care of their womb and remain strong and steady to continue the circle of life and ultimately cultivate a foundation of wellness.
One of the greatest traditional Maya healers of Belize - Don Elijio Panti - believed that the uterus is a woman's center, and if it is not in good position or condition, nothing in her life will be right.
Inspired by the Mayas and ancient traditions of my Carib(bean) ancestors - both West Africans & Amerindians, the spirit of nágei has awakened the path inside me to revive these powerful and almost forgotten traditions of how to care and nurture a woman's center - her womb. It's my mission to follow this intelligent path to healing that my ancestors left to me so I can return to my own center and preserve these sacred healing traditions of my Carib, Mayan, Arawak, African, and Garinagu culture.
"If a woman's uterus is out of balance, so is she."
- Don Elijio Panti
